...was driving without a direction during lunch time - saw the car - dialed the number to check it - noticed a guy from accross the street - stepped out with a phone ( I am still in the car) - he figured out very quickly that i am calling - looked me in the eye and said "just sold it"

No worries - it was over priced as always

If Fukuyama were interested in cars as much as global politics and if he were hanging out around the industrial zone of car mechanics (Sanayi), he could have expanded his 1989 essay “The End of History” by including an industrial comment about classical cars.

Unaware of "the end of history" debate, most collectors of old parked car photos are taking pictures of the cars they come across on a part time basis (without discriminating them as clean or dirty) and they harbinger the end of the survivors of the analogue era. This action is significantly different from collecting albums or comic books as you don’t know what to find where. A free and random street museum…

Eski ve Parketmiş (Old and Parked) is contributing to the parked car literature by its own archive containing photos from Istanbul streets and the local industrial zone of car mechanics as its likes around the world.

Eğer F.Fukuyama dünya politik akışına yorumlar yaptığı kadar arabalara da meraklı ve aynı zamanda oto sanayiye de takılan bir düşünür olsaydı, şimdilerde 'tekrar okumaları' yapılan ve 90larin hemen başında gönderdiği "tarihin sonu mu?" metnine klasik arabalar üzerinden de endüstriyel bir okuma yapmayı düşünebilirdi.

Dünyanın çeşitli noktalarındaki pek çok "park etmiş araba" resmi koleksiyoncusu ise tarihin sonu tartışmasından çok uzakta bir yerde, yarı zamanlı mesailerle kendilerini tutamayıp kirli-temiz ayırmadan raslantısal şekilde karşılarına çıkan araçların resimlerini çekiyor ve analog çağa ait son araçların bitişini haber veriyorlar. Bu eylemin çizgi roman veya albüm koleksiyonundan en önemli farkı neyi ve nerede arıyor olduğunuzu bilmemeniz. Caddelerde ücretsiz olarak ve dağınık şekilde sergilenen bir bilim müzesi.
